What belt with Oxblood coloured shoes ?
Hi. I’ve just purchased a pair of fantastic Oxblood coloured tasselled loaferes but am in a quandry regarding a suitable belt. Should I purchase an oxblood one, or would brown or black suffice ? I’m generally obsessed with matching shoes and belts, so probably already know the answer to this to protect my own sanity !…….
Ha — I had the same struggle with my first pair of oxblood leather shoes. I’ve worn them with both brown and black, and both look all right. An oxblood belt would be BETTER, obviously, but if you don’t have one black definitely works. Some browns work better than others — deep, chocolate browns and things like that are a little too close to oxblood without actually being the same color, and they can cause a visual clash.
But solid black or a light brown/tan usually works fine.

LikeDislikepersonally I like trying to match it with a close brown. Not always easy but I find that going with a color that is different stands out a bit too much. I get pretty obsessed with matching my belt with my shoes too.
