  1. No style flub there. A tie can be a for-fun accessory rather than a business necessity. Ties with a colorful pattern are probably most common, since they’re casual like the rest of the outfit, but I’ve seen men achieve some good looks with nothing more than blue jeans, a good jacket, a white shirt, and a plain, monochrome tie in the right color. It mostly comes down to matching.

  2. I think it’s an attempt at not looking too formal or overdressed which is perfectly acceptable.

  3. I agree that the combination looks great. If you want to level up your casual dress, you can wear the tie with jeans, just don’t wear it when you’re going to formal events especially corporate events.
