Suit Jacket vs. Sports Jacket
Hi Antonio,
I am confused between a suit jacket and a sport jacket, what are difference between these two? Are these interchangeable?

Basically, a suit jacket is made of worsted wool, and has two waist pockets and a breast pocket. It comes with a matched pair of pants, and should generally be worn together so the whole suit stays matched, instead of the jacket fading more than the trousers, or vice versa.
A sports jacket is made of different material; traditionally tweed, and includes more casual pockets and an added ticket pocket above the right waist pocket. It has no matching trousers.
While we’re at it, it’s typically thought that blazer and sports jacket are interchangeable, but a blazer is actually a navy blue jacket with brass, gold, or silver buttons. It also has no matching trousers, but is a step up in formality than a sports jacket. I believe it’s made from worsted wool, but I could be wrong on that.
