Skinny tie vs. Regular tie
I was wondering when is it appropriate to wear a skinny tie instead of a regular tie. I have seen some friend where the skinny tie and I liked the look and wanted to know what is the difference. Thanks in advance!
Personally speaking, although I don’t wear suits on a daily basis, I tend to wear only skinny ties simply as a matter of style (only with a solid colored suit such as charcoal grey etc.). I believe that a skinny tie adds a ‘sharpness’ or edge that allows one to stand out. Returning to you question, I don’t believe that there is a formality to wearing such a tie, rather, it is a statement of style that resembles a 50′s look. Think of the television series, Mad Men. A tie should be a statement or personal expression. If you like it then go for it when the opportunity presents itself.
