I read, that one should match the belt with the shoes. But should I wear a belt even if I don’t need to, in order to “complete” the outfit?
Typically, if the trousers have belt loops, they’ll look better with a belt. Of course, if you’re wearing an untucked shirt that hides the loops, it doesn’t matter. But generally speaking, empty belt loops look a bit unfinished.

It depends on whether you intend to wear a belt for its functionality or as an accessory. If your trousers really need it and it has belt loops, then feel free to do so. If you’re going to wear a belt as an accessory then it would be better to make it visible by tucking in your shirt.
