School Dress (Freshmen Year)
I’m wondering, I go to a small school in Tucson, Arizona. Most kids dress in t-shirts and shorts. However, I wear trousers and a dress shirt. No one seems to mind how dressy I am. However, I will soon be attending a large high school and am worried about over-dressing. Any tips?
Well, it’s always better to be over-dressed than under-dressed. Obviously, showing up in a suit or tuxedo would not be appropriate either (except for prom) haha! You can look sharp semi-formal, I would do chinos (or jeans,) shirt and sports jacket (cardigans are cool, too.) Pay attention to the trends that come and go and you’ll notice that some are ridiculous, example; I’ve seen some guys button up polo shirts all the way, as trendy as it may sound I find it tacky. So avoiding all those things is a good idea, also, you don’t wanna look like everybody else, although if they find your style “cool” they will start imitating you, and that’s a good thing, I guess. You can actually find hot weather sports jackets (usually linen or cotton) as Tucson can get hellishly hot (Phoenix here). I love winter, you can go all out on outfits. Good luck!
