How to wear a navy blazer with charcoal pants without looking like a security guard?
I didn’t know that was a thing security guards wore. I see that combination everywhere; it’s one of the staple defaults of business-casual wear.
If you feel like it looks a little stodgy, go for a navy blazer with the brass buttons (brightens the outfit up and gives it a little pop) or opt for some decorative leather shoes rather than just a solid black or brown oxford. Thick, plain black shoes are something I associate with security guards.

To add to Geoffrey, maybe introduce a pocket square, that should help give you that extra pop?
