What Trousers Go with a Navy Blazer?
I like the classic look of navy blazers, but I mostly see them worn with khakis. I don’t look great in khakis and don’t love the combination. What other trousers can you wear a navy blazer with?
Navy’s actually pretty flexible. Brown and gray wools will both work fine, in varying shades of darkness. You can wear single-breasted blazers with jeans and even colored corduroys for a casual style, although that wouldn’t be business-appropriate.
Khakis are a natural combination because of their yellowish color, which is a natural complement to blue. That’s why you see them all the time, but any medium- to light-colored trousers are a good pair. The only colors to avoid are ones dark enough that they seem like a close but not-quite-perfect match to the dark navy itself.
