What do you think of monogramming pants? I have never been of the shirt or sweater monogram type, but have been thinking of possibly having my chinos done. I would appreciate your thoughts, be sure!
Keep in mind that pants are mostly functional. While they are essential to your appearance (without them, you’d probably look silly walking around town), pants are normally not the piece of clothing that makes you stand out. A jacket, a fine Italian shirt, or perhaps your shoes is what people will pay attention to well before they look at your pants. The main purpose of pants is indeed to lead people’s eyes up to your shirt and then your face, or down to your shoes, and not to attract attention themselves.
Knowing this, who do you think is going to notice your monogram? And if they do, how do you expect them to comment on it? Many people might feel uncomfortable complimenting you on the monogram that’s embroidered on your posterior, because that implies they were looking at that area of your body earlier on.
Thanks, Bjorn. I suppose you’re right. I had intended to have the monogram on the front of the pants, but your point, I think, applies to whatever location. Nice explanation of the perceptive. I sent you a F/b request. Best and thanks!
