Men and Brooches
Dear Mr Centeno,
I am a serious fan of medieval and fantasy tales, such as the Lord of the Rings. In the story, some of the male characters are given brooches to wear on their cloaks. I have always thought of brooches as a feminine accessory… Can it be manly in the modern day to wear a brooch? If so, could you give some tips or advice about it?

This is hard – as the setting and even name of the piece conjures up images of femininity. However – the pieces we saw in LOR were functional and quite masculine.
Wearing it as a functional accessory? Yes
Otherwise – you’re wearing it as jewelry. In that case you need to have confidence and not overplay it.
