  1. Hi Josue,
First of all, You’re doing great in terms of being motivated and committed to changing your personal style at a young age. You need to consider your body type, height and skin complexion if you want to start dressing sharply. You can wear loafers or slip-ons to go with your chinos and your black boat shoes can be part of your core wardrobe if you’re going for the classic style and out-of-the-ordinary.

  3. Hi Josue,
It all depends on the outfit, the occasion, and the look you’re going for.

For a casual business get-up, pair them with a cotton dress shirt, a cotton tie, and a cotton blazer with loafers or leather boots.

For your date or night out with friends, throw on a chambray shirt and some masculine dress shoes.

    Hope this helps!

Starting from scratch can be intimidating and people tend to throw links to sites and articles and videos that can be overwhelming. I’m going to give you a link also but mine will be a little different and I’ll explain why.

You are still in high-school and this can be to your benefit. You can experiment with your look and you should. You can pull off one look one day and another the next. It’s OK at your age to look a little extreme and that’s good too. Because of this, don’t invest in what is known as a capsule wardrobe.

A capsule wardrobe is made up entirely of pieces that are timeless classics. Everything will go togethet. A capsule wardrobe makes getting dressed less of a challenge and It doesn’t go out of style and that is definitely something you will want as you get older, but not yet. You will undoubtedly have some elements of a capsule wardrobe in your closet but high-school you are going to want to have fun with your look.

The link I’m going to give you is to a men’s fashion site that has articles about different looks and ideas. It does have the capsule wardrobe in there but also has an article about how to pull off the Berlin grunge look. The best thing about this site is that has loolbooks. A lookbook is a picture book that gives you ideas about a look to help inspire you. This is a huge help when you are just starting out or changing your look. I would also recommended you make your own lookbook from magazine clippings and pictures you download from the internet.

    Oh… the site is http://WWW.fashionbeans.com

  5. Hi, JosuĂ©! Take it easy, you gotta learn little by little. Must haves are: A sports jacket, neutral color dress shirt, well fitted (tailored) chinos or pants, dress shoes and matching belt (match belt with shoes in color and texture). Notice that fit is one of the most important aspects of dressing well (if not the most important). For instance, let’s say you go and buy a $1000 sports jacket that doesn’t fit you well like a “glove around your torso” (like Antonio says)then it’s not worth the money. In the same way, let’s say you go to a thrift store and find a sports jacket for $5, and spend $30 in fixing anything you have to fix (such as sleeves, torso, etc.)…then you’re better off with the latter, because it will make you look great. Remember that the shoulders are the only part of a jacket that cannot be altered, so find the perfect shoulder fit always. As for color matching, I’m really bad (even a little color-blind, haha) but there’s logic to it all. I think Antonio has an article on color or this vid might help. Good luck, muchacho!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=u0OpyThAGV4
