Hey, could anyone tell me the real difference between jeans and chinos? I had a quick google but it didn’t really return anything definitive.
Thanks

Geoffrey says:
Jeans are denim, a specific type of twill weave cloth made with thick threads. Chinos are lighter and made from finer thread (though the cloths used for them are usually also twills).
Originally chinos meant a specific style of khaki-colored military trousers, but these days it gets applied to most light cotton slacks.
