Can I Wear a Cell Phone Holster with a Suit?
I’m an engineer and most guys I know wear cell phone holsters, but I never see anyone wearing one with a suit. Are they too dorky for businessmen? Should I just put my cell phone in a pocket when I wear a suit, or is there a way to make a cell phone holster look good with one?
For the most part they’re not a great look with a suit. Unless you’ve got a super clunky phone it’ll probably do better slipped into one of the inside breast pockets.
If you do plan on wearing sheaths on your belt (this goes for multitools and other accessories too), let your tailor know, or buy a slightly looser jacket if you’re buying off the rack. You can have the waist taken in to fit, and then you’ll have a slightly wider “skirt” to cover the bulge of the sheath. Heavier cloth helps with that, too.
But in general it’s not the best way to carry your phone with a suit. They have lots of pockets — use ‘em.

LikeDislikeI agree, ditch the holster unless your phone is extremely clunky. But if its a blackberry or an Iphone, it should fit fine in one of your suit’s pockets.
