Blue Blazer Buttons – Silver, Gold, Other??
I just bought a blue blazer. It’s buttons are silver. I have been thinking of going with muted buttons. What are your thoughts on buttons and what looks right with a blue blazer.

Totally up to you! This one’s a matter of personal style, not what’s “right.” Metal buttons are a classic look, but not a mandatory one.
If you want something more subdued, your options include dyed mother-of-pearl or plastic, woven leather buttons, and even wooden or bone toggles.

LikeDislikeSilver buttons aren’t dated? Thanks, Geoffrey. I’ve been looking online and have heard many different things. I like this idea that it’s a “matter of personal style.”

LikeDislikeDefinitely which ever suits you. Great thing with the blazer is, unlike the suit, there are no rules about the colour of buttons. Brass is the timeless and traditional button due to the blazer’s British Navy heritage. As Geoffrey says: mother of pearl looks great. I see more and more of this on navy blazers
Good luck
