Both of those are an option, though I’d personally go for a pale silver over white because it adds a little more tone to the pairing.
Other than that, you might want to consider not wearing a tie at all. I’m assuming you aren’t wearing this to a particularly formal event, and plain black works fine on its own for a dressed-down look.
